I remember my reaction the night I went to my first 12 Step meeting. When I heard the 12 Steps, I knew they were the answer! I knew that they would help me to lose weight and keep it off. As I took the Steps, I began winning the battle with food. My cravings became weaker, and the miracle finally happened. I lost my weight and have kept it off for over 25 years! Another amazing thing happened as I took the Steps: problems that used to drive me to the refrigerator such as lack of discipline, worries and anger, started getting better. By taking the Steps, I learned how to rely on God’s power instead of my shaky will power. And I learned how to be guided by him to a thinner, not so stressed-out life.
